ok a juwel rio 300, i have a 180 juwel vision, how long has it been running for?
did you wash sand? i know it may sound silly of me for asking you that but i used fine gravel and even though i thought it was clean my tank took ages to clear, also you say the white floss is changed once every 2 weeks, i change mine once a week or more if needed and do a 20% water change a week.

well its been running on and off i have other tanks so i transfferd my fish to another tank and gave it all a good clean including sand and it looks murky ,,, does any 1 know whats best to put at the bottom of the tank gravel/sand ect ... would a under water filter help this ,,
thanks

you cannot use an ungergravel filter with sand if that's what you were referring to. Sand is a great substrate as long as you rinse it VERY VERY well before you put it in the tank. I may have missed that part but did you rinse it or not. 1 possible cause is the sand. Does the cloudiness fade after a couple days??? One more thing you say you change your filter pad regularly. Is this the carbon filter pad or the sponge filter? If it's carbon then ok. It's not really neccessary but ok. If it's sponge filter media then do not replace it unless it's fallin apart. Just rinse the cartridge in tank water and put it back in. If it is carbon then you don't have to replace the whole cartridge just open the bag dump out the old carbon refill the bag with activated carbon rinse it well and replace it.

the sand was rinced ,, i only replace the white filter every 2 weeks i dont change black 1s ,,, ill have to try another method to put on bottom,, thanks
