i have a female betta that is in a 16 gallon with a gold spot plec. ive recently noticed that she has a grey dot on each lens right in the middle but it doesnt cover the whole eye area and i dont think its fungus as its flat to the eye. she can still see and can get her food no problem. she has grown a lot in the past couple of months so i think she is still quite young. does anyone know if i can cure this or is it probably something like cataracts?
i have had her since november.

Cloudy eye is a bacterial condition that can be pretty easily treated by placement in a hospital tank and the appropriate meds. I believe there is info on this disease stickied on the "Tropical Fish Emergency" board.

How is your water condition?
It could be an infection so you could add some aquarium salt and do frequent water changes

thanks for the info.
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
ph 6.8
temp 26c
nitrate level was at 100 but now between 40 and 50 and still working on getting it lower
could high nitrate be to blame?

ive set up a 4 gallon and its all stable with nitrate at 25, which is the same as the tap water.

as far as salting goes how high should i take it? i will put her in it shortly then salt to .1% how much higher should i take it too?

thank you for replying :)
