I noticed yesterday morning that one of my cory's had a grey coloured eye. I had some Myxazin so added one dose but ran out. This morning it looked slightly worse and the tail was ragged. I did a 40% water change this evening and started a coures of melafix. Is there anything else i could do to help, is it likely to cure it.

Stats before water change
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
PH 6.8

120 litre
4 Julli cory
2 rams
8 black neon tetra
6 harlequin rasbora

Carry on with the myxazin, corys are prone to bacterial infections, if the eye is a cloudy white colour it's cloudy eye and its a symtom of a desease rather than a desease in its self, don't forget to increase aeration with the med, good luck.

I got home from work today and he's even worse. His eye is bulging out about 5mm and his tail is even smaller with red streaks in it. Should i isolate him, i've got an olg 6g tank but no heater or filter for it.

Sorry he's not going to make it, he has popeye with septicemia on top, that med isnt strong enough, plus once bacterial infections mount up like that well the odds are very slim.
Yes issolate him as with having the septicemia the bacteria can release into the tank from the fish, sorry.

He's lying on his side now breathing heavily. I don't fancy finishing him off. Is there anything around the house i could put in some water to do the job.

He's is dying now with the laboured breathing, get a jug of very cold water add some ice cubes so its really cold, place the fish in the water it's fast, but leave the fish a while in the water just to make sure it passed on.
So sorry and corys are so cute.

Thanks for the help, I noticed one of them flicking occasionaly but i can't tell them apart. I tried Sterazin at the time but it didn't help. i'll carry on with the melafix until the 7 days finish.

Sterazin is a parasite med you needed myxazin.
Corys do flick now and then mine do.
