Cloudiness Of Water

Hello, I just got a fish tank a couple of days ago. It is a 5 gallon tank, and has been running for three days, and have had fish in it for a day and a half now. The water is clouded a little, is this normal? If not, what can I do to fix it. By the way, I have 3 Pristilla Tetras. Thanks A lot. Matt

did you clean your gravel first because it carries a lot of dust. hope this helped

hey my fish tank was going though these same phases so when i went to wal-mart i purchased this thingy called crystal clear it works well and very low price.But MAKE SURE YOU SHAKE IT WELL

Hi,

Cloudiness is fairly common in a new tank. Most of it will be from your substrate and also any chemicals or additives in your water. You just have to wait it out. Sometimes it can be caused by extreme pH and the only cure is regular water changes (depending on your tap water...!) Especially if the tank isn't cycled...

My advice; Just wait, chances are that it will cure itself. Get some water testing kits mainly; Ammonia, NitrIte & NitrAte. pH test kits are also useful for determining if your tank is healthy. pH can have a big effect on the speed of cycling as well.

Dont mean to hi jack ya thread but when i got my internal rena filter i got a block that could be placed inside the filter it was also called crystal clear but from what i gathered from above crystal clear is a liquid, but what i got is a solid block that is like a massive tea bag. Would this do the same as what is beaing questioned.
