Cloth Flowers Turning Brown

I have a 30 gallon aquarium with 16 smaller sized fish in it. I have plastic plants and some that are like a cloth material. I feel i am up on water changes and frequently do weekly water tests and adjust if necessary, but my cloth like flowers are turning brown. Plastic plants and ornaments seem to be fine. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what they did to cure it. The aquarium has only been up for one month. Any help is appreciated.

Do they have algae on them? Is that what is causing them to go brown?

Sounds like a general build up of scum/gunge. Just remove them and replace with more plastic ones, or better yet, real ones. If your tank came with a light then Java fern , Java moss and moss balls will all grow perfectly fine under that light.
