well one of 9 female guppies has given birth yet again. i've got 4 bags floating in the fry tank. each bag has got 10 in and one bag has 12. temp in the main tank is 76 and the fry tank is 72, still i float them like their new fish. i was thinking she was going to die if she got any bigger but then she gave birth. 5 weeks to the day since the last lot of fry. i must have 80 fry in the 2 foot tank now. got around 60 guppies and at least 18 swordtails. they could probably go in the main tank some time this week. i'm going to have to get a better filter for it. any ideas on a good filter that wouldn't suck them up at all?

Cover the filter inlet with some fine meshed material, like an old pair of tights, will allow water through but not baby fish.

I'd be more concerned on getting a larger tank.

yeah thats a good idea. i just tend not to wear them anymore. (chaffing) lol once their big enough they'll go in the 250 litre tank which is plenty big enough for bout 50 guppy/swordtail mix. going to keep the male to female ratio as 1:3. the rest are being sold or given away.
