I think i have- Mopani wood
I boiled it yesterday for about 2 hours, changing the water 3 times.
Overnight, I left it to soak in hot water.
I have boiled it for another 2 hours today, but the water is still becoming filthy....

Why? Doesnt boiling it for an hour or 2 help clean it?
What else can I do to clean it?

I dont want my tank water turning brown-y.

Thanks

(i know its called curing or something)

I'd stop boiling it as this can cause the wood to break down. Just put it in a bucket and change the water whenever it becomes brown. it;s not 'dirt', it;s tannin from the wood, which is natural and some fish prefer it. be aware it may take a loooooong time for it to stop releasing tannins.

I'm afraid boiling will just cook the wood and cause it to rot and release loads more tannins; it doesn't need boiling

Just put it in the tank..if it's 'wild' wood that you've picked up, you can pour boiling water over it to kill off any fungal spores, but that's all it needs.

no, it was bought from a shop... so just stick it in now?
Will it eventually go clear?

it will eventually, though it will probably take ages now it's been cooked...but tannins are harmless to fish (a lot of fish, like neon tetras like tannins in the water). If you don't like the look of it, you can add some carbon to your filter which will remove the colouration.
