Cleaning Salt Residue

In some of our tanks we put in some aquarium salt. The salt residue seems to makes it way everywhere. Is there was easy way to clean this off? Also, is there something can be placed on it so the "salt doesn't stick"? I know this wouldn't work, but as an idea of what i'm talking about: putting oil on the black trim of the tank, so it can't stick as much. Thanks for reading and answering. This is prolly a simple question anyways.
