i've just lost my male betta to finrot, who was in a tank on his own with what i think is an echindorous plant. As he died and im not ready yet for more fish, i cleaned and steralised his tank. Now, his tank is away and i need a home for the plant. I have another tank with platys in.

So my question is... can i steralise the plant in some way so i can put it in with my platys, without running the risk of spreading the finrot?

Hmm.. thanks :)

Give your plants a dip in a bleach/water solution to the ratio of 1:10 for a minute, then rinse them thoroughly in warmish tap water and de-chlorinator. I do this will all new plants before putting them into my tank. when i set up my planted tank i had an outbreak of snails, finrot and somehow a newt (which i didn't mind). Dosent happen nowl
