Cleaning Diffusers?

my white part on my glass diffuser is covered in a white gunk. how should i clean it?

Brillo pad and run it under warm water.


Rinse it off in a bit of tank water (not in the tank though).

brillo pad will wear the ceramic disc away. Not a good idea.

Dribble some neat bleach onto the disc (just enough to cover the disc) leave 5 minutes and rinse it out.
Dribble some more neat bleach onto the disc and leave 5 minutes. Rinse it out.
Dribble a little tap water (just enough to cover the disc) and then add the same amount of dechlor. Leave for 10 minutes

Rinse thoroughly and clean hands thoroughly.

Put the diffuser back into the tank.

Repeat this weekly to keep output good. I do mine every water change.
