I have very hard, limescaley water and my airstone is definitely less "bubbly" than it used to be. I assume this is because the pores are clogging up a bit. Is there a safe way of removing limescale from an airstone? I was thinking one of those old-fashioned vinegar tricks might do it -- but how long would I need to soak it for afterwards to make sure I didn't pickle my fish?

Cleaning on the brain right now, as I just finished picking the mud out of my hair from Glastonbury! :hyper:

personally i would buy new ones as they are so cheap. i just finished putting new ones on my breeding tanks. thats eight airstones and one on the brine shrimp hatcher
