I bought a sulphur goby over a week ago and it is leaving its cave more and more now, not only for feeding as it did when i first bought it.

I noticed today that the cleaner shrimp is attacking it when it leaves the cave. the shrimp is even trying to go into the cave.

Any ideas why this is happening? i thought they would get on fine.

Cheers :good:

Seems a little random all I can guess is you have a psycho cleaner shrimp, I know they can bother corals but mine never bothers any fish I would not know how to solve, only thing I could suggest leave it a week to see if the cleaner gives up if not net him up and pop to the lfs and swap for another or a blood ?

Just a thought he is nt trying to clean the Goby ?

Exactly, are you sure he isn't try to clean him?
Mine are very persistent when trying to clean my hawkfish ( because he is the only one they can catch). They jump on him and pry his mouth open to clean inside it.

Thanks for the replys. I will keep an eye on them. Fingers crossed he is just cleaning. Dont want an aggressive cleaner in my tank!!
