My platy is pregnant and will give birth any day now but today is a cleaning day should I just skip it and wait until my new 5 gallon tank comes then clean after I put her in it

Not sure any suggestions soon

There's something that looks like a tail coming out of her anal fin or something it's been there all day is this a fry or something normal I just never noticed

It could be a fry. If you think she may be having babies, you may want to wait on the water change until after you catch the babies. If you choose to do a water change, siphon the water into a bucket in case you suck out some babies. I've done water changes before while the mom was birthing (didn't know she was birthing till I had already siphoned the water.) and it had no affect on her, but I personally would wait if you can. As per your other post your water parameters are good, so a water change is not essential right this minute.

K cuz on Friday my friend is giving me a 5 gallon setup (already cycled but fishless). And I'm gonna put her in it for birth hopefully this tank won't stress her out the breeding net was like 1/4 of a gallon so she should be ok in a 5 gallon I have a 29 gallon

And an empty cycling ten gallon

So hopefully the fry don't come until friday

If she is already birthing then try to catc the fry and move them to the 5 galloon. if she is laboring, moving her may stress ehr and cause her to miscarry/die

Yeah I didn't know she was birthing or laboring till today so I'll catch fry put them in the breeding net then move them to extra tank
