Clarinet Basics

My brother brought home a clarinet from school.
He plays the trumpet and hoped that I would be interested in learning how to play an instrument as well.
Actualy, I would rather learn to play the guitar, but I found out that it's actually interesting.
The problem is, nobody has a clue how to play it.
I have no idea whatsoever about notes, but that doesn't matter, for now, I'd just like to learn the fingering positions.
There are so many buttons!!!
I know how to get sounds out, but for now, I'm just holding it and clicking a lot of buttons to try and get a nice sound out.
HELP PLEASE!

Try looking into local classes? Or a book might be useful. I play clarinet, I was in the school band for several years. The thing is to take it slow, there ARE a lot of keys lol.

been a while..like 10 years since i played it. clarinet is a reed instrument like a saxophone. first step is to soak the reed in your mouth to get it moist. the technique with the mouth will elimiate a lot of stuff like squeaks and squaks if its played right.

I play the clarinet! Once you get the hang of it you will love playing it!

It is kind of hard to explain how to play it on a forum.

I'm getting some drums for christmas ...but i don't actually know how to play them lol i'm menna b going into a band as soon as i kinda master them ... can you recommend any sites?

As for clarinets, i don't have a clue , i'm alright with violins...

Oh there are various sites all over, and drums are relativey easy to play. Personally, I take lessons from a proffesional drummer.
