Hi all,

After I lost my dat last year, I swore I would have one again some day, and today I found an amazingly stable little guy. he is barely 2" in length but has incredible stable colouring.
He was very dark when I got him home, after about 5 minutes in his new tank, he was fine and back to his previous splender. I did also see some nice Plakats but thats for another forum lol.

anyway, I just wanted to confirm my identification as D. microlepis, here are two pics of the little fish.

thanks

Thanks for the reply,
He is awesome, the last one I had was pretty stable, a bout 98% of the time, but he wasnt as inquisitive as this little guy.

Will be great to see what he looks like in a few years time compared to his measely little 2" body now :)

yeah man , weve got some fully grown D. microlepis at work... they are amazing fish so much better than the campbelli cause the colours are so solid :D

yeah nice d.microlepis, funny markings though.my 4 dats are brilliandt, the smallest of which is a d.undecimradiatus, and gets chased now and again but nothing too bad, my microlepis at about 6" was the boss until the 9" d.quadrifasciatus went in.
yes microlepis are nice, but nothing compared to the elusive d.pulcher, and although i like the straight lines of the microlepis the campbelli are far more sought after now, although their bars are much more 'fuzzy' the yellow on them is far more gold/yellow than any of the other dats which makes them equally, if not more striking than the others.

definatly agree about the yellow on the ngt its much brighter than the it.
st have the colour of ngt and solid markings of it,best of both worlds
