Hey guys

I have a 54 uk gallon aquarium and i wanted to fully plant it!

But as i didnt have the money right away and new i wouldnt for a while...

I set the tank up... with a bare bottom, some wood and some plants (now removed)

But even at that the fish looked lethargic and ill and i put it all down to circulation, dead spots etc!

So now i figure if i cant keep the fish happy when theres no plants obstructing circulation etc

I defo couldnt keep the fish happy once its fully planted!

I use a fluval 305 which i got with the tank (fluval duo deep package)

Its L 48"x D 15" x H 18"

All of this has been very offputting for me and I am pretty discouraged!

I love planted tanks and thats where my passion lies within the hobby!

But due to these problems i havent been able to even start to acomplish anything with this tank

Any help of Filters, filter output placements etc would be greatly appreciated!

Hope to hear from you Garuf lol :hyper:

Thanks in advance

Richie!

Ive been looking around trying to find insperation for this tank...

And i found this which I think is absolutely gorgeous!

This is the kind of layout i want!

2 Eheims are used to filter that as you can see in the info!

And the outputs are just basic and placed in the back corners as you can see!

So i think adding another filter to my tank will sort out all my problems, what do you guys think?

I also had an idea for my 2 filters but im not sure on how well it would work...

Ill do a quick little paint scribble lol and hopefully you guys can see what i mean from it!

Thanks in advance for any help that comes my way! :hyper: :good:

Heres the doodle!

Green bits are the spraybars...

Thickish black lines are the piping comings from the externals

The blue lines are the water outflow lol and the thin black outline is obviously the tank itself!

Good or bad idea???

Thanks again!
