Ciclids Started To Scrape

i changed the tank around and put in rocks instead of wood and plants and the scrapes started. i have a firemouth chasing the other one. a chromide locking lips with the geo. is this down to the tank change or as the ciclids get older they get more agressive. the firemouths are both male. will this be a problem in the future?

You've basically taken away their territories, so they are now adjusting and re-asserting themselves, hopefully things will settle down once everyone has their own space sorted out. You dont say the tank size or full stocking, so hard to say who will get along with whom in the long run.

1 x geo
1 x blue eyed
1 x chromide

hoplo catfish
Bristle nose
6 tiger barbs

tank is a rio 125. obviously this will be changed as they get a bit bigger. average size of ciclids is 1.5 to 2 inch
