Hi does anyone know if it is ok to put cichlids with silver dollars as they are quite large and think they should be ok anyone has any ideas???

well i was advised to put my lone silver dollar in with my oscar- so reckon so, tho may depend on what cichlids they are

Mainly malawi's x

By Malawis I'm assuming you mean mbuna (rock-dwelling cichlids of Lake Malawi), if that is the case then definately no. The silver dollars would be killed either through attack or stress.

If you are keeping haps or peacocks, then maybe, it depends on the species as there are some pretty peaceful ones out there. I still wouldn't recommend it, both mbuna and haps thrive in a high PH while the silver dollars do best in a lower PH. And while tank raised fish can adapt to different levels, I still don't think it would be a good idea. :good:
