I thought it might make a decent topic to find out what other members feed thier Cichlids and what other variations to thier diet ?

I`ve just being reading about the New Life Spectrum Cichlid formula that seems to be coming really popluar does any one use it ? I think it`s meant to make the fishes colours look better and more healthy.

hello nick. I have just replied to this thread, wrote a great article for you, as I am very fussy about what I feed my fish. I found you a great link to read, and then I clicked on the close button by accident and lost it all! how annoying is it when you do that!!!!

anyway, heres the link, and its well worth taking the time out to read it. If you dont already know it, it will teach you a lot, and this Is were I learnt to understand the different needs of my cichlids

Hi Nick, nice idea for a post.

I feed my mbuna TetraPro Vegetable every day. (It has a high percentage of Spirulina)
I also use frozen mbuna food twice a week. Its called Gamma cichlid diet and it is produced by Tropical marine centre it comes in a blister pack. I know there is raw spirulina for sure and some small shrimpy things (not brine shimp). It does not have the ingredients on the pack.

Great article brewyn its a good find, thanks for the link.

Thanks for the replys Tanks / Brewyn.

By the way I`m now the proud owner of a 264 litre aquarium , I`m looking for some rocks to add before I do anything else , thought it may be easier/best to add the rocks beofore adding the water/cycling takes place.

I would add the rocks first, also I think cycling a tank with substrate is better. If you are going to put a lot of rocks in I would recommend that you put them directly on the glass or egg crates, thus you need the rocks before you can put your substrate in. It is also my opinion that aquascaping is easier in a tank with no water. Congrats on the new tank, You have 84 more liters than I do in my tank so I'm looking forward to lots of pictures and some new ideas.

good luck, keep us posted.
