iv read that the like it at about 25c - 27c and my digi thermomerter is at 26c with light on! but on my heater it set to 74 witch i guss is 74F soo iv also read on the same page they like it at 76F-79F soo i duno what to do?? do i set my heater to 76F-79F

i duno if my digi thermomerter is right or wrong??? please help?

Its more likely that the thermostat on your heater is slightly off, if your worried get a traditional bulb thermometer and place that in you tank alongside your digi, if they correspond then its your thermostat if not its your digi. As long as all your fish are behaving normally I wouldnt alter your thermosat until you are sure which is at fault.

i got a blub one next to the digi one the kinda match up its hard to read cos its goes from 70f-80f and its a like 1n a lil under 80f so its hard to tell same with the other side it goes from 20c-30c and its in the middle ov the 20c-30c

grr i dont want to too hot but at the same time dont want it too cold!

A 2 degree change in faranheight is hardly anything, I wouldn't worry too much

Sorry misunderstood you there, I dont know how acurate the thermostats in these heaters are, I have one in my tank set to 22C but I get a reading of about 25 -26C. But a constant temperature is more important I suppose, than getting it exactly right, I reckon these temps are only guide liines, as long as you are in the right range or there abouts.

thanks mate! what is the rightest right rage water temp for cichlids (LAKE MALAWI mbuna)

The thermostat in my heater is off by atleast 5-10*F. Sometimes more. I think its pointless to label the thermostat on these heaters since it will always be hotter at the heater than at the other side of the tank. I have mine at 82*F

i would say 25-27C would be about right, i never trust the thermostat in my heater, i use the strip that you stick on your tank tank temperature thermomiter
