Cichlid Scratching Itself

Hi,

I have a cichlid in my tank which has been swiping itslf against gravel. I do not know why it is doing this, is it just iching?

Almost certainly normal behaviour, especially if it's an Mbuna species you have. It's generally a sign of territorial behaviour or general aggression and shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Hi, just like to add that it could also be due to poor water quality if your tank isn't quite cycled or going through a mini-cycle. Otherwise, it's normal just like Ferris said.
