Cichlid Question

can they mix with panda and peppered corys?

also apple snails?

What type of cichlids were you thinking of?

The water peramaters for most Cichlids is different to that of normal tropicals, but on saying that, I would not advise cories with cichlids, and definately no snails or shrimps, and they have very powerful jaws and would make a very quick meal of them.

With my Malawi Cichlids I just had a bristlenose pleco.

Hope this helps.

thanks for fast reply, not really sure yet just doing my research first, have had 2 angels for about 3 months now (in community tank) and to be honest i am bored with the tank, would rather a species tank, (already have a barb tank)

the snails are large though?

It wouldnt really matter on the size of the snail, they would just break their shells open  .

I really enjoyed my Malawi Cichlids, but my 29 UK Galloon was not big enough, as you need to overstock to reduce agression. Also they produce an awful lot of waste, so the tank also needs to be over filtered. Saying all that, I got much enjoyment from them in the 2 years I had them.

What size tank were you going to be using? Kribs are cichlids, and stay quite small. A pair of them would make a nice addition as they are generally good parents and breed quite readily. Their colours are stunning. I thought I would post a couple of pics of my old ones for you to see.

Pair of Kribs in bringing babies out for their first trip!

I have corys (a peppered and another which name I forget) with angel fish and they are absolutely fine.

I had two synodontis catfish with my Malawi cichlids but would definitely not have put corys with them.

i wouldn't put kribs with cories, as kribs are territorial and both species occupy the bottom of the tank.
