Cichlid Injury

    Alright, so I think your stocking levels are good as far as African cichlids go. I would not put that many cichlids in the tank when it comes to American though.

    As you've seen, convicts can be extremely aggressive when breeding. If they are breeding they are best kept alone. I would not recommend mixing convicts in with African cichlids.

    Check your water - ammonia should be zero and nitrates should be under 15.

    If somehow possible, get that breeding pair their own tank.

    I've been looking at 125 gal & above...would make a nice Christmas gift to me....I do buy my own gifts...
