Cichlid Identification Help

I bought a small cichlid a few weeks ago at the pet store and I cant figure out what kind it is. He has a grayish color with darker gray verticle lines evenly spaced. He is about 2 inches long the lines are about 1/4" apart. Please help me identify!

That could be any number of species, especially if he's young; a picture would greatly help in identification.

Had a look in my book and the closest thing i can find to this is the freibergs peacock cichlid.

Which is the is here

I could be wrong though but it looks pretty close

Yup, looks like a juvenile peacock, though not sure of the species. Have a look here, though you may need to wait for the little guy/girl to grow some more to be sure.
