i posted in two places. one after the other, i didnt ask seperatly at diferent times. look at the times they were posted before jumpng to conclusions please.

I didn't bother checking times, but see what you mean.

Might be worth mentioning the fact you've posted the question elsewhere next time then eh? :good:

Anyways, did you get some or do you have these fish?

If you get a pair you'll have fry in no time.

got a breeding pair! i knew geophagus brarilius to only grow 6" in the aqauria, is it only 12" in the wild?

I have a pair and the female is 6" the male 9" ( SL -+ tails) - they are less than three years old & still growing but have slowed down.

My male is well past six inchest too - probably about 8 or 9 or so. Seems to have settled at about that size now though. Doesn't seem to grown much in the past 12 months.

What will you do with the fry? I got £80 from the LFS for mine!

£80, wow. well i know where the going now.. :good: well im making a tank divider today, (well was suppost to be but cant move my arm because i done something to it) so when the breed, il advertise them on here etc, what did you feed them and how big were they when you solt them?

They were about 1" to 1.5" when i sold them - probably about 3 months old. Finished up having to buy another tank off ebay for growing on before they 'went to market'!

Fed them on crushed flake at first - tetra I think do a 'baby' version I used. Didn't take long before they were on frozen bloodworm and all sorts though. Fierce putting your hand in there after a month or so - lucky to get out again!

Here's a pic after I treated them to piece of bogwood to play in - the 'tea' colour is the bogwood leeching. You might notice I had two filters in there too - took weekly 50% water changes to keep on top of the nitrates.

I think the LFS gave me £1.50 a piece but we got fed up counting in the end and agreed on £80. :good:

Might be worth checking you can sell them first as they are very frequent breeders.
