Cichlid Id Please

I am hoping to offer a home to the little chap in this thread. Just wondering if anyone can id it for me just to make sure he/she is compatable.

i dont know what it is, but i'm 100% that fish is not a Salvini cichlid.

whatever it is, it looks like it needs some TLC to regain its color.

why, whats th difference between the fish in the pic and a salvini? apart from distressed colouration, it has the same shaped head and black lateral markings as a salvini which are pretty individual to the species.
what would you say it is?

as I said before, I don't know what it is. but I collect salvinis weekly, having now collected well over 100 specimens. just looking at the profile of the fish it tells me it's a species I haven't encountered before, hence I don't think it's a salvini. I also have never seen a salvini with such little color...

I hope star4 will forgive me for butting in. I have had the fish since Sunday, it was a rescue fish, it had no colour when I collected it. With her kind permission, stevem is collecting (hopefully tonight) both fish to give them a good home. I'm hoping like everybody else, he will colour up when he has settled down in his new home. I have asked stevem to send me piccy's when this happens. I feel so sorry for both of them, but I'm glad that I have had the chance to re-home them and they will get the TLC and space they deserve.
