I want to know the big yellow and blue and small blue fish names please (i know about the yellow lab).

Thanks :)

Looks like a Cynotilapia Afra to me along with a couple of Pseudotropheus Zebra species and a couple of Yellow Labs.

All of which are Malwi Cichlids (African/Old World)

Thanks for the reply, they look a bit like they could be Pseudotropheus Zebra's but they are still young at 2.5cm in size and very active. I remember the name "Pseudotropheus" when i bought them so i have a feeling that they are a Pseudotropheus but not sure of the other name.
I have put this up on the other old world cichlid forum and someone said that the big blue one is Kenyi as well as the other big yellow cichlid which to my research from before seems right. But which one is female and male, is the blue female and the yellow male as the yellow one is a bit more bigger and chases the blue Kenyi but not badly where there are fin nips.
Any responses?
Thanks

Yep thats him hes a Kenyi...not a Afra, just slipped my mind..i not kept them for a while.

The Zebras are usually Pseudotropheus or Metraclima ... they are trying to push them into there own group.

Your best bet for a second opinion is to post these in the 'Old World' section..they are pretty common and you'll get info from more experienced Mbuna keepers than myself :)

The reason why tehy are chasing is becasue you need to crowd and overstock Mbuna...its the only way to curb agression.

Trust me before i kept a all Mbuna tank i attemtped to keep a few mixed Mbuna with a JD,2 convicts, bristlenose and 3 clownloaches.

The JD, 1 of the convicts, Bristlenose plec and 2 of the Clowns all died a pretty nasty death...so i woudlnt advise keeping them with anything but LOTS of other Mbuna (Malwai rock dwellers)

They get more agressive with age also!..much more.

Avoid Pseudotropheus Demasoni (blue and white stripey fish that looks like your Kenyi) and Melanochromis Arautus (looks alot like a yellow kribensis) also...these are very common in the hobby and will wreck a tank of fish...they are lethal.

You also need to plan on sexs...each male fish needs atleast 2 females...possibley 3 to keep agression levels down..otherwise all the male fish will kill eachother to get to whatever females are available and you will get a tank full of hybrids because all Mbuna will breed with eachother no matter what the species.

Thanks for the help :) i think i know for sure what the 2 blue fish are and the kenyi i know of for sure.
Thanks :)

I gave up because my LFS knowingly sold me diseased fish (hollow belly disease) which wiped out £100's of fish.... however i did get my own back, i swept up the 7 remaining fish (out of around 50 odd) and sold them back to a diffent LFS in the same chain ;)

Av em back ya #19###s.
