Hey,

Im pretty sure my parents are getting me between 29 - 45 gallon aquarium so ive made a few stocking plans assuming its a 45 gallon. Here they are:

2x Rams
2x Kribensis
4x Dwarf Cockatoo Cichlid
2x opaline gourami
3x Pearl gourami
4x dwarf loaches

So what do you guys think. Too overstocked assuming its a 45 gallon? More room? Fish gonna eat fish? What? Thats the question for you. What do you think about my plans?

Thanks for the help,

Squidman

P.S. My brother has a 10-20 gallon he might be able to give me when he comes for christmas. I dont have stocking plans for that yet thoguh but i think my current 10 gallon will be turned into a fry rearing tank once ive got fry and the current dwellers of my 10 gallon will be switched over to the new 10-20 gallon.

not 100% sure but there might be some problems between the kribs and the rams...

I wouldn't put all those cichlids in together if I were you. Maybe choose one pair and change the tank around them, e.g what fish they can live with, what fish can live at the same temp as them etc.

Buy the ram's first, as the krib's will take over if they are let to establish territory. So i say the set-up is perfectly fine, just add the krib's 2 week's later as rams can be very shy.

All right, Thanks everyone. I think what i will do is get a pair of rams and the pearl and opaline gouramis and dwarf loaches. I will add the blue gourami and maybe the brichardi into the 45 gallon tank as well. Then My plan is to have a 45 gallon tank set up as a community tank, 15 -20 gallon will have my yoyo loaches and some cockatoo dwarf cichlids, the 10 gallon will be used to rear the fry im hoping to have in a year or so and my 1 and a 1/2 gallon will be used as a hospital tank for my sick fish. The cockatoo cichlids im hoping to breed and sell to cover some of my fishkeeping expenses. :) :D Sound good? Oh and for the community tank im not sure what else im gonna decide to add quite yet. Maybe a shoal of black neon tetras or rummy nosed tetras.
