Hey im new to this site i have 3 female balloon mollies and i suspect that there pregnant but not sure how would i be able to know if there pregnant or not?

I was just reading up on them....from what I heard, they are hard to tell if they're pregnant. Plus it might be easier to tell with a good pic.

How long have you had them?

Are you sure they're female?

What color are they?

Can you see a dark mark(almost like a ) shape) just behind their stomach area?

I know im going to take a pic of them soon its just that my digital camera is acting funny.Ive had them for a week now.Im positive there female ive had platy's and sailfin mollies before so there not that hard to tell.I suspect that there pregnant because they hide in different areas and when the other fishes go there they'll chase them away and go back to there original hideing spot.I have one thats black, orange and white they have such basic colors thats hard to see if there pregnant or not they use to be active with my platys and guppies but they just stopped. My female platy is about to give birth so i have her in a breeding tank.

When I started breeding livebearers, I compared pics on google, I would find a pregnant one and a non pregnant one. A pregnant one looks like she has a squared off belly, not a round one. The gravid spot would be large too. Hope that helps :/ :D

:D Yes it did help i saw that my white balloon mollies stomache was very square so i put her in the breeding tank and an hour later she 65 babies there so cute and tiny luckily my uncle is a manager of petland i could trade some of them in for credit once there an inch long but im going to keep some to.
