Christchurch Shaking Again. Ideas For Stressed Fish?

Well it's a bit shaky again in Christchurch, New Zealand So far no fish fatalities or long power losses but it's been like the 'perfect storm' in the tanks several times today. Any suggestions for de-stressing fish please?

Thanks Smokeyjo. I've done that now. No fatalities reported which is a relief. We're slightly on edge (fancy that ) and continuing with our rock and roll lessons

attach the wifes electrical devices (you know which ones) to the top of the tank to counter act the vibrations of the ground...

Probably a pain but maybe put the tanks on the ground that way they can't fall if the tremors get worse, and put a thick blanket over the top with the light out to hopefully protect the tanks from anything falling on the top. Hope it's just some ground grumbles and not building up to anything more serious. On the off chance of loosing power long term I would go to a bait and tackle shop and get a couple of battery powerd airpumps that you can at least out in the tanks and put the filter cartridges near the airstone from the airpump.

I still miss Christchurch even though I came back to the UK 18 months ago. Thinking of everyone back there, now its decided to shake rattle and roll again. Hope it quietens down again now though.

Mishmash - you're a Cantab? . Baccus - you're obviously a Cantab at heart . Beautiful!
We're still rocking - every time we have a biggie (or four) the aftershocks go on for weeks. If you google geonet it shows our wobbles. We're very lucky. House is munted (happened in the June shakes) but livable and we don't get liquefaction (repeated flooding with smelly, heavy wet sand). If you look on You Tube for the Christchurch December 23 quake you'll see areas with liquefaction that make your heart bleed (a shovel for Christmas anyone? )
On the bright side, once we got enough slope on the kitchen floor, the dog could throw its own ball - he drops it, it rolls off- he chases it.

SO so gutted when we watched the earthquake first time round - now even more distressed to hear about your on-going rumbles. Hope you are as safe as you can be!!!! AND the fish.

Aha, finally got emoticons figured out. gforce! It was (is?) indeed a beautiful building - not sure if it has survived the demo crews or not. The square had just been opened up for walkabouts at limited times. Didn't make it in and have the funny feeling they may have closed it off again (go figure ). When it is open again, I will try and get some pics and learn how to upload.
