Hi Friends, I accidentally put my goldfish in chlorinated water (without de-chlorinating it). The fishes are hardly moving and lying sideways. What can I do? Please help.

Add some salt.
One tablespoon to the 5 gal.
How many gallons is the tank.
How many goldfish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Just change out the water for dechlorinated water, or even just throw some de-chlor in now.

The actual affects of chlorine on our tanks is far from certainly known as many tanks run fine without using and dechlorination process.

i will suspect somthing more is going on, can you explain what exactly the fish are doing, maybe they have dropsy or somthing. :)

oops sorry you said he died, sorry ot hear about this how sad :(

I dont believe it was 'chlorinated water' that did this to your fish. I used to use non-dechlorinated water in my tank for a few months, and they were fine. Also in some areas you will find they dont even add chlorine to tap water.

What are your water stats?
