Adding mineral water to the tank. Contains Chloride, is that harmful to fish?

I believe this a cousin of chlorine so if you add the mineral water, then you need to still add de-chlorinator. I believe on the bottles of de-chlorinator it says that is removes this too so I would def say you don't want it in the water.

There is an extra ion added into chlorine which turns the chlorine into chloride, so your right, thanx for this

Know your chemistry.

Chloride (Cl-) is not necessarily bad or even unhealthy for fish. It is an ion that is VERY common in salts (even aquarium salt).

Magnesium and sodium both have very common chlorides that are found in water (especially salt water).

Sodium chloride is table salt.

A little bit isn't going to hurt freshwater fish.

Hell, alot of people suggest adding it (under various other names) to the aquarium to combat all sorts of illnesses from fungus to ick.
