So today i went to my LFS and bought two chinese algae eaters for my divided 10 gallon tank (one on each side) and after doing my research they are said to be also very territorial and aggresive to other fish? I just put them in today so there quite stressed so there hasnt been any issues. Anybody have/tryed these before, i am leaning towards retuning them :dunno: please help!

Although they look great. If i were you id be keeping an eye on these guys, as chances are they will get aggressive with your beta's :(

You never know though they might just get on fine :) I have seen stranger things happen lol

Be very careful, I have seen some that can be very sweet but the last two I had tried to suck the life out of guppies! He became the snack food for my senegal bichirs after that.. so I guess they have their own personality just like bettas. Plus I have heard they get to a foot long. so if they got bigger they may try to attack your bettas :\

They get way to big for a 10 gallon... for that alone I would return them. My experiences is they get quite aggressive once they have grown a little, and mine were in a 55 gallon...

thanks for the help guys, :good: im going to take them back today i really dont wana risk losing my beatiful bettas any recomendations for another bottom feeder for a ten gallon ???

Cory's mate :) or some sort of pleco. There is a list on here somewhere of pleco's that only grow to 8" max! But if i were you id get a nice group of cories :) like 6+ of them. :good:

:good: Couldn't agree more! :D I've also got a clown pleco in one of my tanks,- they are a very small pleco but can be very shy. I never, ever see mine! I have some stunning longfin bristelnose plecos (max size 8") but I would say go for the cories! :D

i would love to try shrimp but never seen any in my area?? but i do see loads of cories so ill definitly grab a few pygmies later today :) thanks guys !
