i am planning on getting a large tank 75 to 100 gallons. I like the chichlid especially the cobalt blue and yellow lab types. How many could i fit in a tank this size, and are they incompatible with any other chichlids, or any other smaller fish.

I've also heard that they are very difficult to take care of is this true.

If i choose not to get these what other types of brightly colored fish are out there, i would like some like 8" but i would also like to have a school of smaller fish as well

Thanks for any suggestions

I don't know much on chichlids, except that they are aggressive. This might make them harder to care for. I suggest you look around the chichlid sections in this forum.

Other brightly colored fish that come to mine are rainbows, gouramis, tetras and some of the peaceful chichlids. Look online for fish you find interesting then do some research on them and as questions here. Also make sure you cycle you tank before you add any fish. This link explains how your tank cycles. Use the Fishless cycling method, it is quicker, easier and you don't have to risk the lives of any fish. Cycling can take over a month, so plan your stocking plan out and be patient. :)

feel free to ask any other questions :) .
