hi all had my shrimp tank up and running about 12 months now. had fire reds cherrys and crystal red bee shrimp. in the space of about a month all my fire reds and cherrys have died off. funny thing is I never noticed a dead body in all that time. was like they just disappeared one by one. my crystal reds seem unaffected. they are fine. showing good colour and are breeding readily. any ideas peeps.

Sounds very unusual.

Presuming tank water parameters were ok?

Also, is there any fish/stocking in that tank that may prey on shrimps?

perhaps some may be in your filter intake or something?

Without much information, there is not much i can comment on at the moment, these are just guesses.

Perhaps if you can add some more info that would help a lot. For example,

Tank size?
Water temp?
Parameters?
Full stocking of tank?
Anything new recently added to tank? plants, decor, new fish, etc?

That would perhaps give us more of an idea of what may be happening in your tank.

Sorry for the losses btw.

Cherry shrimp and Crystal shrimp actually have quite different water preferances with regards to temp and hardness even pH, My guess is that your water suits the crystals, but the cherry's struggled in it.
