I'm admitting defeat in my hex tank. Only the amazon sword looks vaguely OK and even it's not up to much. This is with daily TPN+ and easy carbo. So I'm scrapping the rest in favour of silk. TBH, the prices are quite reasonable if I think how much I've spent on live stuff  but they seem so expensive! I want tall thin stuff to go at the back, so needs to be at least 10-12" really. Am I dreaming of getting them for under £2? Even on eBay they're £5! To make it nice and lush looking, I'm thinking at least 5 :hyper:

Oooh, whereabouts? In the classified? I've just been looking there...

I buy my silk plants in Bulk Lots from peterclivemartin on ebay, works out alot cheaper, haych just bought a load of them from me.

Thanks guys :) Aly starh, none of those are the right shape, but thanks for the link. I'll check that eBay seller out Gill, thanks :)

Ellena, I buy in bulk from ebay, different sizes, 10 for something like £12 delivered and stuff

if you want links shout!

Oooh, yes please haych :) Those are a fab price gill (just over 80p each!) but too much for my betta tank. I've faved the seller though for future huge tanks :good:

yeah great prices from him on most things. I think when i am allowed to have a large tank i will buy from him, as he is local.

ooooh that is a goood price for nice bushy plants

I didn't even THINK of ebay. (I'm in the same place as you Ellena... I'm more concerned about keeping my fish happy and healthy rather than worrying about keeping them healthy and the plants alive... and anchored so they don't go floating around when my fish dig em up... and trying to coax the baby snails off of them and onto a peice of lettuce.)

So I want to buy silk plants, tank the live plants and place them in my small tank and let the baby snails grow a bit bigger before giving them away.

Sadly... the only pet store in 100 miles from here JUST started selling fish, so now everyone and their uncle has a fish and have bought up all the fish supplies from them and walmart. lol. Even drs foster and smith's silk plants are all on back order. Argh.

so thanks for the ebay hint. Never even thought of that. My next stop was going to be petsmart.com, but they'd be over priced I'm sure.

A Tip for Ebay is to also check the other ebay's around the world, just to make sure you get the best deal when it comes to postage.

I once ordered some silk plants from Australia, just to test out the postage and it was cheaper than the uk.

I just got a pack of 10 silk plants for £14.99 inc postage which is pretty good. Not as cheap as 80p each but still far less than in a shop and they are all large plants too. I got them for my aunt who needs some greenery in her tank but has a UG filter so she cant have most real plants and doesn't fancy trying it.

Woohoo! i think i just got a bargain...!

i won it... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370321929262 :D
