hello can anyone give me a link to cheap dechlorinator that is highly concentrated so it lasts along time. thanks alot

Cheapest would be a big bottle of pond dechlorinator, ebay/google it.

letting the water stand for a day or more only gets rid of the chlorine afaik, leaving the chloramine (if your water supply has any).

Seachem Prime is economical. It's a lot more concentrated than most other ones although it's slightly more expensive.

I've used Tetra AquaSafe for a year now. It is a combination declorinator & stress coat. I have been very happy with it. I just bought another half liter from PetCo for about $9 USD and it only takes 7 drops per gallon. I haven't even used my last half liter (although it is close to empty now) over the past year and I do 8-10 US gallon water changes weekly.

Sodium thiosulfate, one pound mixed with a gallon of distilled water. This will dechlorinate anywhere from 30,000 to 150,000 gallons of water, depending on the concentration of chlorine & chloramine added. $3.25 per pound where I get it from.

That is alot of water!!!!!!! How long does it last you? Like 2 months with all your tanks? I just get the 2.99 bottle of the petsmart brand. The bottle is like 8 oz. and is 1ml for every 5 gallons.

Pond dechlorinators work out best for thos with a lot of water to change, or like Tolak says buy the raw ingredient and mix your own.

If you don't mind paying out up front, you can pick up a 5L bottle of Tetra AquaSafe for £42.99 from Warehouse Aquatics.

This may seem like a large initial outlay but if you consider most LFS sell the small 100ml bottles for £3.99, then this works out way cheaper - i.e. buying 50 x 100ml bottles would cost you £199.50!

In saying that, I suppose it depends on how many tanks you've got and how much water you've got to 'treat'. As a footnote, I've no idea how long the chemicals contained in them will stay effective for.
