I have a 25L tank with 1 male and 4 female platies. All of my females are pregnant but my male seems to be chasing after one in particular, though he headbutts all of them. She's acting stressed: swimming up and down the sides of the tank and breathing a little fast. Would it be best to move the male to a 2 gallon bowl with another male or to put him or her in a breeding trap?

is she getting close to dropping? The male would be more aggressive as the female is getting ready to drop. If you feel she is too stressed out I would put her in a 2 gal. The trap is only useful when shes getting ready to drop you usually dont keep females in the trap longer than 48 hours. Go with the 2 gal. Good luck!

i'm just worried that the 2 gal male might bully whichever fish i put in there... I'll move the male and see how they get along
Thank you :)
