Charcoal In Fluval 205 Filter

hi, do i need charcoal in my fluval 205 filter as it is in 2 of the 3 media trays and i think it is slowing the flow rate down, as my jewel internal filter pushes out more water than my fluval.

any ideas what the charcoal does?

no you dont need it. Carbon is good for removing meds but not much use for anything else

take it out and replace it with more bio media!
