hi, i am getting a new tank 2moz its a "AQUA ONE" (100cmx40x70) it comes with stand, hood, lights & heater ,the shop is closing down & sold it to me for £400 ,is that cheap ??

im thinking that if i put the fish into a transport box ,then take water from exsisting tank & transfer it to new tank along with all gravel, rock ect including filter ,can i then put fish straight into the new tank or not ??

any advice would be greatly accepted as i need to get this sorted or the wife is threatning to dump the lot outside !!!!

if you are using mature filter media and mature water then yes, but im not sure if £400 squid is cheap, doesnt sound it really, make sure tank temp is up before you add fish

It's best do do the fishless cycle and not transport any old water from your other tank.

as long as the filter in your older tank is fully matured you should be fine i would put 50%fresh water in and 50% tank water in that way its just gives the fish a bit of fresh water in their new environment how many LPH is your current filter

the filter is a fluval4 plus + i have a 300 watt heater ,only had the current tank running about 10 days but had to have it as my brother was going to dump the tank & give fish away due to becoming homeless, i only really wanted his large plec !!

then you should be fine then as it will be already cycled you might come across a mini-cycle but just do frequent water changes of about 25% then should sort itself out in no time

what fish do you have ?

my current tank is a standard 4ft set up the new one is 100cmx40x70 current fish are as follows
1xlarge plec 16"
1xlarge angel
1xgolden gourami
1xneon
3xcory's
1xgolden sucking loach
2xsilver tetra's

yea you should be fine with the filter you have in the tank personally i would get a smaller filter maybe a fluval 2 or something just to give it that extra filtration i run a fluval 4 and a fluval 205 on my 55gal tank

i also have a whisper 600 which has an airstone on the end of the pipe i have not used this but my brother ran this along side the fluval ,is this a good idea or not ??

yea all it will do is add more filtration to the tank which will (when cycled) break down nitrites and ammonia faster i run 2 filters on my tank which sorts things out and all i have to do is change 10-20% of water a week
