ok so i have a new filter eheim 2215 which im swapping the 2213, but question

1) ive put the media in the new filter and it does quite fill it up will it be ok until i get another pad? so i can get the filter started straight away....?

2) shall i take and old piece out the 2213 and put it in the 2215?

edit : also i just found some carbon ball thingys in a little holder that was a free gift which came with i different filter i no longer have do u think it will be ok to put in to the 2215 as more carbon filter?

Does, or doesn't? So long as the water flows through the media and not over the top or round the sides you'll be fine. Is this new or old media you're referring to?

Yes, that's kind of the same question as above if I'm reading this right though, isn't it? I don't know the internal architecture of these filters, but assuming it's foam pads of differing sizes, replace the old media with new over the course of a few weeks, a bit at a time, to allow the new media to populate.

If you can fit the new media into the filter alongside the old media, do that, and remove the old media in a few weeks, a bit at a time.

I wouldn't use carbon unless you need to remove something specific, like meds or tannins.

sorry doesn't, it wont flow over top, its new media which is why i asked about putting a bit of the 2213 in it, and im using carbon to reduce tannins!

so i take it it will be ok, then i can take the 2213 media out throw that away and add another 2215 new pad!
