I'm changing my 55 gallon from Africans to Angels. Currently the tank is "up and working". The ph in the water is at approx 8.2.
Is that too high for the Angels? Can I just acclamate them to this higher ph without any problem ? The new Angelas will be mostly smaller size except fdor one that will be larger, jf that makes any difference.

It is probably a bit high for the angels unless they are coming from water with a similar pH. If you no longer have African rift lake cichlids, then remove any calcium based rocks and do a complete water change and gravel clean. Then the pH should be a bit lower with the new water.

If you still have African cichlids in the tank then don’t add any angels because they will probably get bashed.

If you keep wild caught angels you want the pH below 7.0. Most captive bred angels are fine in water with a pH up to about 7.8. Some will go higher but it depends on what they have been kept in.

If you have a big angel and some small ones, the big one might bully the smaller ones so you should keep a close eye on them.
