Changing Filter Media ?

My filter media was really dirty when i got it second hand and now i've got some money i'm gonna hopefully change it but wanted to know the best way to go about it ?

Its a standard sized Juwel filter so it has 5 sponges and the cotton wool stuff on the top any ideas ?

obviously changing it all in the same day will get rid of my bacteria right ?

Not terribly familiar with the Juwel filters, but changing all your filter media at once will get rid of your bacteria as you said. Change it out a bit at a time, maybe a third followed by another third the next month and the last bit the month after that. You may have the best luck buying some larger filter sponges and filter floss and cutting them down to size, tends to be a lot cheaper than buying the prepackaged filter media.

well £25 isn't much really so i'll just buy the packets
