OK i've done it, changed to sand today...

I've got a few questions

Does it have to be level? or can it slope??

Anything else you'd recommend I do?

I have mine slightly sloped, at the internal filter end its lower so there is no chance of it sucking any sand in.

TIP, Swirl the sand gently every few days to keep it looking very clean.

Thanks, I was just wondering because of the "nitrate bombs" I heard about in another thread? Also how could I rake the sand sorta thing??

How long do you think it will take for the sand to settle down before I can reinstate filter?
