The original Jewel bulb blew it yesterday so got an Arcadia light instead. We are now all very pink. I knew I had pink platys in there, but this is really, seriously pink, surely rather more than Nature had intended; it's like living in one of my daughter's princess magazines.

Why are the Arcadia bulbs so pink; it makes a pleasant change from not giving any light at all, but is there a particular rationale behind them being this colour? Will my plants like it?

It also makes my babies stand out and makes it much more visible how many they are, and how much I'm going to need roomier accomodation- are you listening, Santa? If not, anyone on the forum fond of pink?

Better bulbs though then the juwel i have them, i have a pink one it does show the fish off nicely, though it for a 8gal bow front hospital tank, which i hardly use.

hey you scared my a little I thought by the title of your thread you said a fish had somehow gotten in side the hood where the light is.

I thought she meant a fish had get into the light bulb lol, i though how could that happen.

Yeah I thought there was a fish in the bulb too.
Same thing here, when I changed from the standard Juwel lightning to POWER-GLO, everiting was really bright and stuff, but it looks cool now, you'l get used to it.

i recently carried out a lighting upgarde on my juwel 96. fitted another light and changed original bulb so have twice the brightness...............

can actually see the fish now and love the reddish glow! the plants love the extra light too its like a rainforest in there!

I think the reasons lights are all different colours is because of their spectrum range. Some colours are better for palnts... Some colours show of better... some colours are jut to light the aquarium and nothing more. If you go into a LFS you should see as chart near all their lights showing their colour and stating what they are best used for.
