Hi everyone ive just got a regal 100 220 litre tank ,i was wondering could exchange my water from my 620t tank 120 ltr and fish straight into my new tank??? will this solve the cycling process? or shall i just wait and cycle my new tank? cheersx

:hi:

I don't think water takes a big part in it, but wouldn't harm to move some of it over. The main thing you want to move over to the new tank is the filter from your old tank, this is where all the good bactirea is held.

You can also move over the gravel too if you wanted to keep that. But moving the filter over to the new tank is what will help the most.

Just remember to keep an eye on your water stats by testing it daily so you can see if there is any problems :)

Hope this helps! Goodluck :good:

Schottay is exactly right.

Maybe we should take more cae to talk of cycling filters rather than tanks, as it's not the tank we're cycling, it is the filter media.

And always think of your filter media as being paired with the fish, not the tank or the filter; my oscar's sponges, for example, have been in about three different filters as he's be upgraded (he's a rescue; I wasn't prepared for oscar keeping when I had him dumped on me!).

So, if you're moving a third of the fish, a third of the filter media has to move too; half the fish, half the media; all the fish, all the media :)
