Well my mom found a Ceratophyllum demersum in the ast.palnts tank at the lfs and I decided to buy it.

But the guy at the lfs bagged it badly so when i took it out it was all tangled and when i tried to de-tangle it it would easily fall apart. So i planted the main plant and put some of the parts i ripped of in the sand subtrate.

What i have now is 2" of play sand and i put root tabs where ever there are live plants.

but my question is that the plant looks very tangled and messy in the tank and i was wondering if i could cut some of it to make it look better and also to plant the parts i cut off since i have heard that this plant doesnt really have roots.

i liek the look but its just messy.

i just dont wanna cut it and kill the whole plant, its doing fine right now, very lively and happy. i think?

my light wattage is 1.5wpg

please help since i am a fool of the plants :dunno: justb want my dp's to have a good home.

it it were me i would let the plant grow first and then cut of the healthier plants, replanting them, let them grow a bit, if the new plants are doing well then i would discard the old messy looking plants...

i did this with my stargrass

alright ill let it grow for a month or so, then ill cut off the top, sinc its already almost at the top of my water level, and plant that part.
