I'm in the process of setting up an office in my home, and have aquired a new 10G tank. I was wondering if instead of carbon If I just stuffed the filter pouch with ceramic rings if that would be alright?

Thanks

In short, yes. I use a product from Seachem called Matrix in my filter packs rather than carbon. I haven't used carbon in over 2 years as I don't want to have to change it ever couple weeks. The only problem with the actual ceramic rings is that they may be too large to fit in the filter packs. I guess you could always break/crush them ith a hammer to make them fit.

As long as it isn't too stuffed to allow for the proper water flow, it should be fine.
