Ceramic Noodles

With the ceramic noodles, the advice is to lay them out as the bottom layer with the filter foams and sponges on top, but to my mind, putting the noodles on top weights down the filter media and stops the filter media puffing out and being all floaty on top of the noodles.

I had the ceramic noodles on top at first, then thought it was wise to follow the advice of Aqua One, but it's bugging me and I can't help feeling it would be better the other way around.

Does anyone have any opinion about this or advice?

You will want the larger particles removed from the water before it reaches the "noodles" so I'd do filter floss, sponges, noodles, from top to bottom.

Ok no worries, one other question then, is there any way to 'weight' the foam etc. down so it doesn't 'float' when full of water, bearing in mind that if the noodles were on top they would weight them down, but if they are on the bottom, they can't.
