hey peoples :)

in my tank i currently have a small shoal of false harlequin or trigonostigma espei, along with a platy and an arulius barb, i really like the harlequins, think theyre a lovely little fish
i was thinking about upping their numbers and basically having a big shoal of them in the tank, not so keen on the barb right now because it can sometimes be a bit nippy and should also be in a shoal of its own kind, and it grows to about 12 cm so i wouldnt have room so may have to re-home it!

but what i wanted to know, does anybody have any ideas of what fish i could keep as like a center piece like a fish that will grow a bit bigger so it stands out among the harlequin?
but not so big that it will not be happy in a 64L tank :)

You could add more platies, or a pair of apistogrammas. If you want to do an Asian theme, re-home the platy as well, add a nice male betta and a group of six khuli loaches.

thanks for the advice :) i was considering a betta fish to go in there over the past few days :)
and how big do khuli loaches grow to ? i love the look of them! just don't know an awful lot about them

thanks again :good:

Kuhlis grow to about 4"/10cms, but their bioload is that of a smaller fish, as they're so thin bodied. They need to be in groups and would appreciate a sand substrate so they can dig :good:

How about honey or dwarf gouramis (if you decide against the betta; they can't be kept together)?
